The Fremont boys basketball team used a big fourth quarter to overcome an early deficit en route to a 63-46 win over Fruitport Monday in a Lakes 8 Conference matchup.

The Packers trailed 21-14 after one quarter and led 28-26 at halftime, then pulled away with a 22-11 edge in the fourth quarter.

Dylan Krim stepped up in the final quarter for Fremont with 14 of his game-high 29 points. He also finished with 10 rebounds and six assists.

“The game was within five early in the fourth and Dylan took over,” said Fremont coach Pete Zerfas. “It was one of the best fourth quarter performance I have seen in a long time.”

Blake Siersema stepped up with a big game of 22 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks for the Packers who have now won eight of their last nine games. 

Travis Grimm and Matt Umstead led Fruitport with 11 points apiece. Shawn Knox added 10 points for the Trojans.
