MCC women finished a tough week battling back to back games against nationally ranked opponents. The Jayhawks couldn’t get past No. 20 Kalamazoo Valley Community College and fell 70-61 on Saturday.

Taylor Brown played a stellar game to lead the Jayhawks with 23 points, eight rebounds, six assists and five steals.

“Taylor has taken her game to a whole new level over our past seven or eight games,” said MCC coach Rob Recknagel. “She is playing all conference caliber basketball and is a near impossible guard for other teams at this point. She uses her size to dominate small guards and her ability to persist on drives to get to the rim against bigs. Her outside shot is really great lately, she has become a hip-up shooter that is confident in all aspects of her game.”

The Jayhawks led most of the first half and used a great team effort to exchange leads in the second half before succumbing to the talented Cougars.
