A strong first half start, and cold first-half shooting on the part of visiting North Muskegon, gave the Mason County Central boys basketball team a victory over the Norse 56-34 in a West Michigan Conference contest.

The Spartans started on a 13-3 first-quarter run, and led 29-7 at the halftime break. North Muskegon cut the lead to under 20, 40-22, after three, but MCC put away the game in the fourth.

Kody Ambrose led the Spartans with 13 points. Teammate Johnny Carson finished 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Josh Ritzema added eight points and nine rebounds.  The Spartans as a team were excellent from the free throw line, going 13-of-17 from the charity stripe.

The Norse were led by Antonio Gordan, who finished with 10 points.  Marcos Visconti added six points in a losing effort.
