Strong defense leads Holton girls over Central Montcalm

Strong defensive efforts in the second and third quarters gave the Holton girls basketball team a victory Friday night, taking the 50-36 Central State Activities Association contest to Central Montcalm.

The Red Devils were led by Rachel Younts who had 16 points and six steals.  Katie Wildfong poured in 10 points while Jacki Stone added seven assists.

Holton outscored Central Montcalm 9-1 in the second quarter to take a 21-12 lead at halftime.  The Red Devils then went on a 15-3 run during the third quarter to take lead 36-15 after three.

Ashton Bohen led Stanton Central Montcalm with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
