Whitehall did not have answers for a talented Belding girls basketball team on Wednesday. The Vikings fell 86-56.

Belding wasted little time as it led 21-4 after the first quarter and 43-15 by halftime.

Emily MacArthur continued to lead Whitehall with 21 points and nine rebounds. Brandy Balzer scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Vikings.

Janelle Uganski put up nine points and three assists and Jenna Pesch added five points and four assists.

McKenzie Breimayer paced Belding with 33 points and Payton Mount scored 18 points.

“Belding is a good team, but we had a terrible performance,” said Whitehall coach Rachel Kent. “We were struck with turnovers in the first half the Belding quickly scored on. We pulled it together and played a better second half, but we have have to play hard and smarter for 32 minutes if we are going to finish strong through the post season.”
