A strong first half on Monday night led to a 55-43 victory for the Pentwater boys basketball team over Mason County Eastern in a Class D district first round game.

The Falcons jumped out to a 15-9 lead after the first quarter and led at halftime 24-14 before hanging on for the victory in the second half.

Sam Wagner led the Falcons with 14 points, while Joey Trailkill and Alex Wagner added 10 points each.

Mason County Eastern were led in the game by Jimmy Appledorn with 17 points and Hunter Hoffman with nine points.

Pentwater will face Brethren on Wednesday night in the district semifinals.
