Things were even most of the way Thursday night, as Fruitport Cavalry Christian battled Fowler into overtime, where the Eagles advanced to Thursday’s Class D regional final in Big Rapids against Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart (17-5) with the one-point, 69-68 victory.

Calvary Christian led 13-12 after one, but a 14-9 Fowler (17-5) run in the second made it 26-22 at the break.

The Eagles (19-3) again took the lead, holding a one-point edge into the fourth, before Fowler tied it to send it into overtime.

Cavalry’s Taylor Richards finished with a game-high 30 points, while Allyson Richards contributed 25 more points in the winning effort.

Kara Schafer led Fowler with 25 points, and Kelsie Feldpausch added 16 points in the loss.

Calvary will take on Sacred Heart Thursday evening at Big Rapids Crossroads Academy at 7 p.m.
