The Class D district final will have a local flavor on Friday after Muskegon Catholic’s 78-27 win over Walkerville West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science on Wednesday night.

MCC’s win sets up a Friday district final against host Fruitport Calvary Christian at 6 p.m.

Fruitport Calvary Christian and Muskegon Catholic met for the girls district basketball championship a few days ago with FCC winning and now the boys will macthup for a district title on Friday.

MCC was in total control against Walkerville West Michigan Academy as they jumped out to a 31-6 lead after one quarter.

MCC tacked on 21 more points in the second quarter and led 52-10 at halftime.

The Crusaders were led by Adam Callow with 15 points and five assists.

Ian Tyler scored 10 points and Erik VanFossen totaled 10 points and five steals for MCC.
