Muskegon Community College men’s golf team competed well Saturday against some much bigger opponents, finishing second at the Ferris State University Invitational.

The Jayhawks finished just five strokes back from host and invite winner Ferris State, compiling a score of 320 strokes to the Bulldogs’ 315 stokes.

Northern Michigan University was third with 328 stokes.

The Jayhawks’ Tyler Covell finished with individual runner-up honors, completing the course in 77 strokes.

Teammate Joel Maire finished with an 80, with Ollie Shepardson totaling 81 and Marcus Fry added an 82 for MCC.
