The Muskegon Community College baseball team remained in first place in the Western Conference with a pair of wins Wednesday over Kalamazoo Valley Community College.

MCC (30-15, 16-4) opened with a 4-1 win and won 12-5 in a five-inning Game 2.

Nick Keller pitched all seven innings in Game 1, striking out four while giving up four hits. Jason Ribecky led the Jayhawk offense with two hits.

In the nightcap, Brandon Melchert scattered four hits for the win.

Patrick Giddings belted a home run and finished with a pair of hits and two RBI. Jason Ribecky added two hits for MCC.
