WMC girls soccer team finally solves tough Reeths-Puffer goalie, steals a 1-0 victory and remains unbeaten

The Western Michigan Christian soccer team finally found a way to get a shot past Reeths-Puffer goalie Elysia Mattos and escaped with a 1-0 victory Saturday in non-league action.

The Warriors improved their record to 3-0 on the season.

Mattos turned in a strong performance for the Rockets, stopping 17 of 18 shots. The only goal of the contest came with about six minutes left in the first half when Alyssa Benedict kicked in a rebound for WMC.
