Grand Haven trounced on its cross-river rival Spring Lake in softball on Friday. The Bucs won 14-1 in Game 1 and beat the Lakers 9-4 in Game 2.

Kaylee Hartwell pitched a 5-hitter with six strikeouts in the opener for Grand Haven.

Kylie Masko had three hits, including an RBI double. Maddie Barshawn, Audrey Boersen and Hartwell each had two hits for Grand Haven.

R.J. Morrow had an RBI double to send in the lone run for Spring Lake.

In Game 2, Masko led at both sides of the plate for Grand Haven. She pitched a complete game on eight strikeouts and four hits and had four singles of her own at the plate.

Grand Haven fought off Spring Lake with a four-run seventh inning that included three doubles and three singles. Mikayla Gronback and Hartwell had three hits each for the Bucs.

Kelsee Zuidema led Spring Lake with a double and a single.
