Matt Iacopelli impressed everyone in Muskegon with his dazzling offensive skills last season.

Apparently the rest of the United States Hockey League noticed, as well.

Iacopelli, a forward for the Muskegon Lumberjacks, has been named to the first team All-USHL squad for his performance in the 2013-14 season.

The native of Woodhaven, Michigan led the league with 41 goals last season, and tied for seventh in the USHL scoring race with 63 total points.

He also set single season Lumberjack records for goals and points in a single season.

“It’s a great feeling and an honor to be selected with other great players (in the USHL) also deserving of this recognition,” said Iacopelli, who has committed to play college hockey at Western Michigan University when his junior career is over. “I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish the season that I had without the help of my teammates and guidance of the coaching staff.”
