Montague took home a pair of wins against Shelby in their doubleheader on Friday. The Wildcats won 6-4 in the opener and captured the nightcap 11-2.

Cody Gjertsen posted two hits for Montague who jumped ahead 3-1 after the first inning. Ryan Loudermild had an RBI double and Jacob Buchberger added a hit and an RBI. Abram Erickson executed a perfect squeeze play to sneak Gjertsen home for Montague in the bottom of the fourth to take a 4-3 lead.

Shelby tied the score at three in the top of the fourth as Andy Fortier and Jake Baffi had two hits apiece.

Winning pitcher Chayce Lohman struck out seven and gave up seven hits and one earned run for Montague.

In Game 2, Montague tallied a pair of solid innings at the plate. The Wildcats scored four runs in the third and three more in the fourth.

Loudermild led Montague offensively with three hits including a triple and two RBI. Lohman had three hits and Buchberger had a single, a double and an RBI. Ben Rupert tripled and had three RBI.

Buchberger pitched the complete game with five strikeouts and six hits.

Reeths-Puffer 4-2, Jenison 2-7: The Rockets score three runs in the fifth to hold off Jenison in the opener. Caleb Sheffer batted 3-for-3 with three singles for Reeths-Puffer. Jacob Petrick recorded the win on seven innings pitched. In Game 2, Reeths-Puffer jumped out to an early 2-0 lead but was unable to hold on. Sheffer had an RBI single to lead the Rockets at the plate.
