Muskegon Community College golf team places third at MCCAA golf championship

Muskegon Community College advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 12 tournament next week at Bedford Valley after finishing third at the Michigan Community College Athletic Association golf championship on Tuesday.

MCC finished with a 912 team score, while Grand Rapids CC placed first with an 805 team score.

MCC’s Joel Maire placed third overall with a 216 score and Tyler Covell was seventh with a 222 total.

Marcus Fry (235) placed finished in 24th place, Ollie Shepardson (237) was 28th, Noah Carter (254) was 49th and Curtis Taylor (258) finished in 52nd place for MCC.
