NORTON SHORES — The Muskegon All-Star Classic kicked off its third annual game at Mona Shores High School on Saturday. The contest highlighted some of the area’s best high school football players.

Just as last year, the rain came. It didn’t cause a delay like in 2013, the rain caused the game to be cut short because of lightning with about four minutes to play. But mother nature did not strike before a talented bunch of players were able to give area football fans some good ole football.

The Legends walked away with a 28-14 win, despite leading just 14-7 at half.

MVP of the night, Allendale quarterback Haiden Majewski, threw three TD passes and was 11 of 17 passing for 164 yards.

Majewski’s hooked up with Montague’s Chris Carroll on a 17-yard scoring strike. He also connected with Muskegon’s Justin Foster on a 37-yard scoring pass and found Mona Shores receiver Logan Smith for a 31-yard TD play.

Also leading the Legends was Reeths-Pufer’s Julian Munday who had 103 yards on 18 carries and a 1-yard TD run.

Muskegon’s Tavon Jackson set up the Munday TD with a 65-yard kickoff return for the Legends.

The Dynasty found its first score on a five-yard reception by Jerick Wambaugh from quarterback Austin Wright. Both are teammates from Oakridge.

Ludington’s Chad Large capped off Dynasty scoring with a 4-yard keeper play late in the third quarter.
