The Muskegon Motorcycle Club and the American Motorcyclist Association hosted their biennial hillclimb event at Mt. Garfield this past weekend.

Two area riders participated in the top echelon of the event in the Unlimited Class. Grand Haven’s Matt Luna took the eighth position with a best time of 6.615 seconds.

Also riding was Greg Dunbar from Grant, who finished 10th with a best time of 8.111 seconds in the Unlimited Class. Dunbar had perhaps the biggest wipeout of the event when his motorcycle took off from underneath him and went flying off the track in spectacular fashion. Luckily he walked away uninjured.

Winning the top spot was Jay Sallstrom from North Mankato, Minnesota,  with a best time of 5.131 seconds.
