The Muskegon Community College Jayhawks men’s and women’s cross country teams both finished fourth in the 2014 Vanderbilt Invitational at Hope College on Saturday.

Zach Ripley, whose college was not identified, won the men’s race with a time of 25.10. Julie Oosterhouse from Hope won the women’s side with a time 18.50.

MCC’s Jacob Baker finished 10th overall with a time of  27.36. Colin Duca was 33rd (30.35), Lenin Castillo was 35th (30.51), Austin Kleiner was 38th (31.21), Austin Person was 43rd (32.15), Austin Elliott was 46th (32.51) and Dominic Flores was 48th (33.23).

In the women’s race, MCC’s Deanna Near finished 12th with a time of 20.25, Andrea Lavigne was 27th (21.17), Sabrina Smith was 37th (22.29), Andie Young was 40th (22.36), Marlee Harris was 41st (22.38), Raquel Zavala was 48th (24.20), Brielle Johnson was 50th (25.09), Samantha Eely was 52nd (25.36), Claudia Melton was 54th (26.07) and Miranda Buckwald was 57th (28.36).
