Mason County Central overcame the rain and turnovers as it slugged out a 12-6 overtime win against Shelby at home on Friday. Blake Bladzik lifted the Spartans on a 2-yard run to pull out the victory.

Offense was at a minimum for both teams with each scoring touchdowns in the second quarter.

Juan Cavasoz gave Shelby a 6-0 lead after he plunged in from three yards out.

Mason County answered with a 28 yard touchdown catch by Colton Tyndall from quarterback Spencer Knizacky.

Both teams were hurt by turnovers as Shelby had four and MCC had two.

Sean Wells had 13 tackles and an interception while Austin MacDougall 12 tackles for the Spartans.

Shelby was led on defense by Casey Dewitt with nine tackles and Cavasoz had five.
