Ralph Monday dropped in 26 points and pulled down 17 rebounds as the West Michigan Lake Hawks topped Team NetWork 118-115 Sunday on the road. Monday also had five assists on the night.

Kulawnie Saunders sank four 3-pointers to lead West Michigan with 27 points while JhaMonte Melton had 19 points. Will Wright scored 13 points and Akeem Sweem finished with 11.

Early foul trouble hurt West Michigan but its bench stepped in and gave solid minutes.

“It was an aggressive game today,” said Lake Hawk coach Ronald Jenkins. “After coming off our home opener last night (Saturday), the guys played extremely well. It’s tough to play back to back at home and on the road the next day.”

West Michigan picks play back up on Sunday back in Detroit against the Coast II Coast All-Stars.
