The Reeths-Puffer girls basketball team used a balanced scoring attack and tough defense to dismantle Fruitport Tuesday in non-league action.

The Rockets held Fruitport to just one first quarter point and led 22-7 at the half.

Artrese Williams led Reeths-Puffer on both ends with nine points while holding Fruitport stadout Iyana Brown to seven points. Reeths-Puffer’s Elysia Mattos scored nine points while Brooke Larabee and Kalisa Williams both had eight rebounds and five assists. Camaryia Williams posted seven points, seven rebounds, six steals and five assists for the Rockets.

Spring Lake 60, Allendale 36 –  Spring Lake sophomore guard Reiko Johnson scored a game-high 25 points and had three assists with three steals in the win. The Lakers held Allendale to just five points in the first quarter and three in the third. Spring Lake’s Emily VanWingen scored 10 points and had four steals, Remington French pulled down 12 rebounds and scored nine points while Kelsee Zuidema grabbed seven rebounds.

Orchard View 46, Grant 38Cha’nise Dixson hit a pair of triples in the third quarter to help the Cardinals (1-2) gain the advantage and claim their first win of the year. Jayshonna Blackshire led Orchard View with 23 points, Dixson finished with 13 points and seven rebounds while A’miya Brown added seven boards. Laura Bouwkamp led Grant with13 points.

Ludington 40, Grand Haven 26 Brandy Thomas had 14 points and six rebounds for the Orioles, who claimed a big non-league win over the traditionally powerful Bucs. Kalli Warh added nine points for the winners while Kristen Reidenbach chipped in eight rebounds and four assists. Amanda Merz paced Grand Haven with 10 points.
