The Muskegon Catholic boys basketball team outscored Fruitport by seven points in the fourth quarter Friday to claim a 55-47 victory in Lakes 8 Conference action.

Savion Thompson scored 14 points for MCC and Fruitport’s Nathan Kriger led all scorers with 18.

The Crusaders improved to 5-1 and 2-0 in the Lakes 8 Conference while Fruitport fell to 0-6 and 0-2.

Ludington 58, Orchard View 30 – The Cardinals were held to just 11 second half points as Ludington coasted to an easy win. Andrew Jones led the Orioles with 18 points and Matias Keyes paced Orchard View with 11. Ludington improved to 3-4 (1-1 Lakes 8) and Orchard View droped to 1-4 and 0-2 in the league.

Spring Lake 48, Fremont 21 – After jumping out to a 19-7 first quarter lead, the Lakers never looked back. Keegan George and Joe Czajka both scored 10 points for Spring Lake. Fremont struggled, making just 6 of 42 field goals, 6 of 16 free throws and committing 25 turnovers.
