“We’ve got some skilled players both on forward and defense and they can move the puck and their feet well,” said Moan Shores coach Dan Quain whose team improved to 10-6 overall. “We forechecked real well on offense. The defense made good out look passes, and gave our forwards the room to get in their zone.”

Goaltender Jake VanderLee stopped all 17 Pioneer shots in the shutout for the Sailors. Mona Shores posted 26 shots of its own.

Adams’ second period goals first came off the power play midway through the period. Carter Oneil posted assists on both goals while brother Nate Oneil assisted on the first and Nick Nawrocki on the second.

The Sailors connected on 1 of 4 power play opportunities but gave up just two penalties of their own.

“It was a team effort all around,” said Quain. “Jake made some nice saves and our forwards were good.”
