The Oakridge boys basketball broke open a close game by scoring 47 points in the second half en route to a 75-50 victory over Montague Monday in West Michigan Conference action.

The Eagles led 14-8 after one quarter and 28-22 at halftime before taking control of the contest.

James Cooper III led the Eagles with 16 points. Hunter Benson added 12 points while Nate Wahr and Caleb Cook each had 11.

Dontay Smith had 18 points with two assists and two blocks for Montague. Wyatt Cribley added eight points.

Oakridge is now 8-3 overall and 5-2 in the league. Montague, in the midst of a four game losing streak, fell to 6-5 overall and 2-5 in the league.
