The Mona Shores girls basketball team trailed Muskegon by three points in the final seconds of regulation Friday when Jordan Walker downed a 3-pointer to send the game into overtime.

The the Sailors outscored the Big Reds 6-2 in the extra session to seal a thrilling 59-55 victory in O-K Black Conference action.

Mona Shores was up by two at halftime but Muskegon came back to take a three point lead after the third quarter.

“It was probably the wildest girl’s game I’ve ever seen,” said Mona Shores head coach Brad Kurth. “It took a lot of heart for us to come back. I’m proud of the kids.”

“If this is any indication of how the conference will be, it’s going to be a battle.”

Walker led the Sailors with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Kelsey Wolffis added 16 points and 11 rebounds while Shamara Tumblin contributed 13 points.

Madriekia Cook led the Big Reds with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Tierra Williams added 12 points.
