The Whitehall Vikings turned in a strong all-around performance on Tuesday night and upended the Shelby Tigers 54-46.

“Whitehall played tough,” Shelby coach Sarah Wolting said. “They crashed the boards well and took care of the ball. We struggled to take care of the ball and Whitehall did a good job of using our turnovers to their advantage.

Shelby was plagued by 28 turnovers.

Emily McArthur led Whitehall with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Robin Gould added 11 points and six rebounds. Melissa Shoup pulled down 13 rebounds.

Chloe Sillman led Shelby with 12 points and seven rebounds. Jenny Beckman also reached double figures with 11 points and eight rebounds

“We fought back and made it a one point game and then we couldn’t finish or we turned it over,”Wolting said. “We have some big games in the conference still, we need to play smarter and under control.

Oakridge 53, Hart 18 – The Eagles led 17-0 and 36-4 at the half en route to the lopsided victory over Hart. Hannah Reinhold led Oakridge with 17 points. Shelbe Wilde had seven steals. Haley Mast led Hart with six points.

Montague 61, Ravenna 50 – The Wildcats clawed their way to a 27-22 halftime lead, then outscored the Bulldogs 22-16 in the third quarter to gain their margin of victory. Emma Flagstead led Montague (8-4, 6-3) with 17 points and 16 rebounds while Sydney Stine added 12 points. Erica Adams paced Ravenna with 18 points.

Mason County Central 53, North Muskegon 39 – The Spartans got off to a quick start and raced to a 16-5 lead after one quarter. Kylie Mount led MCC with 17 points while Makila Hodges added 10 points and 13 rebounds. Mya Duncan led North Muskegon with 17 points.
