Jenny Beckman scored 20 points and Chloe Sillman added 16 as the Shelby girls basketball team defeated North Muskegon 58-34 in a West Michigan Conference tilt Friday.

Shelby improved to 9-7 overall and 8-3 in the conference.

Mya Duncan scored 19 points for the Norse, who dropped to 2-9 and 2-6.

Whitehall 57, Ravenna 35 – The Vikings jumped out to a 19-7 lead after the first quarter. Emily MacArthur led the Vikings with 22 points and 19 rebounds while Melissa Shoup had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Melissa McWatters led the Bulldogs with 17 points. Whitehall is now 5-8 and 4-5 in conference play, Ravenna is now 3-10 and 1-9 in conference play.

Hart 47, Mason County Central 28 – The Pirates led 26-6 at halftime and never looked back. Madison Hegedus and Baylee Draper each had 15 points to lead the Pirates. Draper also had 13 rebounds and seven blocks. The Spartans fell to 4-10 and 4-7 in conference play. Hart is now 6-8 and 5-6 in conference play.
