The Muskegon Community College baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader Thursday to host Davenport College, 3-2 and 6-1.

In the first game, which went extra innings, MCC pitcher Kyle Lawson threw seven innings without giving up an earned run and struck out five. Reid Beffrey had two hits.

The Jayhawks were quiet in the second game, only managing two hits.

MCC, now 5-6, will open its home schedule Saturday with a 1 p.m. game against St. Josephs.
