The West Michigan Lake Hawks hosted the ABA North Central Division final four on Saturday and didn’t waste any time in reaching the finals. The Lake Hawks ran away with a 154-78 win over Oakland County at Muskegon High School.

Will Wright scored a game-high 41 points and had 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals for West Michigan, which advanced to the finals today at 6 p.m.

The Lake Hawks jumped out to a 32-15 first quarter lead and led 79-30 at the break.

Lou Williams put up 21 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks while Paul Burbridge scored 17 points for the Lake Hawks. Kulawnie Saunders added 14 points, David Fox had 13 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists and CJ Wicker added 11 points.

West Michigan moves on to the finals at Muskegon High School where they will face the Motor City Firebirds who topped the Chicago Fury 114-105 in the opening game.

“They can shoot and can play inside,” said West Michigan coach Ronald Jenkins about the Firebirds inside-outside game. “We’re going to double up and use our pressure defense to wear them down and hopefully we’ll come out on top.”
