Newaygo gets past Grant in a Class B final, prepares to meet Spring Lake in Monday’s regional opener

The Newaygo boys basketball team defeated Grant 61-43 on Friday night in a Class B district final game at Fremont High School.

The Lions led 27-20 at halftime and 37-29 after the third quarter before closing the game out with a 24-14 fourth quarter run.

Ben Wolford led the Lions with 19 points while Cole Chesley had 14 points and eight rebounds.

Newaygo will face Spring Lake in the regional semifinals on Monday night at Hamilton High School
