Hesperia pitchers Mera Schmidt and Sam Burdick both turned in strong lsj-fb-logopitching performances Friday, leading the Panthers to a pair of non-league softball victories over Montague.

In Game 1, Schmidt struck out three in seven innings as the Panthers grabbed a 7-6 win. Danielle Wolfsen and Kaycee Jackson each had two RBIs for Hesperia.

In Game 2, Sam Burdick struck out four in seven innings in Hesperia’s 7-3 victory. Clair Rumsey had four hits for the Panthers while Mirah Stitt knocked in two runs.
