The Detroit Red Wings made six selections in the 2015 NHL Draft over the weekend.

LSJ Logo incertThe Red Wings picked left wing Evgeny Svechnikov in the first round with the 19th pick in the draft. He played last season for Cape Breton of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Detroit picked defensemen Vili Saarijarvi in the third round with the 73rd pick. He was a member of Green Bay of the United States Hockey League last season.Eye on the D

Goaltender Joren Van Pottelberghe out of Sweden was picked in the fourth round with the 110th pick.

Center Chase Pearson was picked in the fifth round  with the 140th pick. He played for Youngstown of the USHL last year.

Defenseman Patrick Holway was selected in the sixth round with the 170th pick. He play last season for Boston Advantage U-18 team.

Left wing Adam Marsh was picked in the seventh round with the 200th pick. He play for Saint John of the QMJHL last year.
