Pirates 5, Tigers 4 (14 Innings) – J.D. Martinez’ two run home run in the eighth inning was not enough to spark the Tigers, as the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Tigers in extra innings on Tuesday night.
Ian Kinsler and James McCann each hit an RBI double for the Tigers.
Tom Gorzelanny took the loss, evening up the game-winning run in the 14th inning.
Detroit starting pitcher Justin Verlander pitched a no decision, allowing two earned runs on six hits in six innings.
Detroit will look to even the series on Wednesday night against the Pirates.
