Usually families settle for one published “shout out” to their favorite high school football player.LSJ Logo incert

But there’s no rule that says they have to.

Last year the Kimbrough family went all out, purchasing four preseason shout-outs to their favorite player, Muskegon Catholic’s Jake Kimbrough, in the 2014 Local Sports Journal high school football preview section.High school helmet feature art

“Go Jake #88,” said one ad from Mom, Ted and Lauren. “Go Jakey – #88. I love you,” wrote GG, “your littlest, biggest fan.”

“We’re proud of you #88 Jake Kimbrough!” wrote Grandpa and Grandma Keiser. Another ad, from several proud uncles and aunts, said “Go Green and Gold! Go Jake #88!”

Jake Kimbrough may have blushed a little at first, but you can bet he loved seeing all the support from family and friends as his team embarked on what turned out to be a state championship season.

Make sure your favorite high school football player gets a personalized shout out in the 2015 edition of the football preview section, which will be published in less than a month.

Player shout-outs cost $25 per ad, and can be a maximum of 25 words. Proceeds from the ads will help Local Sports Journal maintain its coverage of high school football, and a host of other prep sports, during the upcoming school year.
