Second half goals led the Muskegon Community College men’s soccer team to a 2-1 home win over Cuyahoga Community College at Mona Shores High School on Saturday.
Miguel Flores lifted the Jayhawks to a 2-1 lead with seven minutes left in the game after he found the back of the net on a Hector Chavez assist. The goal was Flores’ first of the season.
Brandon Edwards put the Jayhawks on the board first after the two teams played to a 0-0 first half tie. Chavez and Jake Rajewski set up Edwards on the breakaway tally that gave MCC the 1-0 edge.
Jayhawk goalie Hayden Collins posted his first win of the season with three saves. Collins made a diving save just before halftime to keep the score knotted up.
MCC is home again Sunday with a 1 p.m. start at Mona Shores.
