Detroit sports glance: Davis triples Tigers to another walk-off win in extra innings

Tigers 2, White Sox 1 (10 innings) – Rajai Davis hit a game-winning triple in the 10^th inning to give the Tigers an extra inning win over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night.

The Tiger pitchers (Daniel Norris, Buck Farmer, Ian Krol, Drew VerHagen and Neftali Feliz) combined for a no-hitter through 9 1/3 innings. The White Sox’ third basemen Tyler Saladino broke it up with a triple and scored the game-tying run to force extra innings.

Blaine Hardy picked up the victory for Detroit, pitching a hitless 10^th inning.

Detroit starting pitcher Norris threw five perfect innings before being pulled out of the game due to a 63 pitch limit.

The Tigers will look to get a series split against the White Sox with a win on Wednesday afternoon.

Record: 70-81

5^th Place in AL Central (17.5 games behind Kansas City)

9.5 games behind Houston for last playoff spot.
