Tigers 7, Rangers 4 – Tyler Collins’ three-run home run in the fifth inning broke a 1-1 tie and started a five-run inning that led the Tigers over the Texas Rangers on Monday night.
J.D. Martinez knocked in his team leading 99th RBI of the season, while James McCann had two RBIs for Detroit.
Detroit starting pitcher Justin Verlander picked up the win, allowing one run on six hits in six innings.
Tigers’ closer Neftali Feliz induced a double play to end the game and pick up his 10th save of the season.
The Tigers will look to win the three-game series over the Rangers with a victory on Tuesday night.
