Western Michigan Christian rolled to a 6-1 win over North Muskegon in a game played Wednesday night at Reeths-Puffer due to the condition of WMC’s soccer field.
WMC led 1-0 at halftime as a pass from James Sytsema that went through the box and was converted by Kayden Riksen.
Dylan Mines scored 14 minutes into the second half for WMC and added a second goal minutes later to give the Warriors a 3-0 lead.
Mines set up Trent Alphenaar to give WMC a 4-0 lead and the Warriors made it 5-0 on a goal from Tommy Tencate, recently pulled up from the junior varsity team.
WMC’s final goal came on a goal from Joel VanWinkle with an assist from Clayton Negen.
North Muskegon was able to score with a couple of minutes left in the game to avoid the shutout.
WMC outshot North Muskegon 29-9.
