The Panthers went 2-0-1 in pool play, defeating Evart and Marian 2-0 and tying with Big Rapids Crossroads 1-1.

Hesperia advanced to the finals by beating Walkerville 2-0 in the semifinals. The Panthers then won a rematch with Big Rapids Crossroads 2-1 in the finals, with set scores of 15-25, 25-22 and 15-10.

“It was an exciting victory for the Panthers who have been unable to get a finals win in a few years,” said Hesperia Coach Monica Grimard. “This year we are learning to get past the fear of winning and believe we are capable of it.”

The Panthers were led by Mariah Stitt with 24 kills, 20 digs and 19 aces and Ceara Thomas with 65 assists.
