The Muskegon Lumberjacks gave up the game-winning goal with 10 seconds left in regulation Sunday in their 3-2 loss to the Team USA Under 18 squad in a preseason game in Green Bay.
The first period was scoreless.
Muskegon’s Max Humitz broke the deadlock with a power play goal 50 seconds into the second period. Dante Palecco and Matej Paulovic assisted on the goal.
The U18 squad tied the game at 1-1 with a goal on a breakaway from Graham McPhee at the 11:06 mark of the second period.
Kieffer Bellows gave the U18 squad a 2-1 advantage with a goal at the 1:28 mark of the third period.
The Jacks answered with a power play goal from Collin Adams at 6:57 of the third period to tie the game at 2-2.
Joey Anderson scored the game-winning goal for the U18s with 9.2 seconds left in the game.
Muskegon will play its next game exhibition game on Friday in a rematch with the Team USA Under 18 squad at the Lemieux Sports Complex in Pittsburgh.
