The Muskegon Community College women’s basketball team grabbed an 83-78 overtime win over St. Clair County Community College on Friday and rolled pastLSJ Logo incert Alpena Community College 68-38 on Saturday.

MCC came out flat against St. Clair, shooting just 16 percent in the first 10 minutes. The Jayhawks were also miserable from the free throw line, going 15 of 32 for the game.

But the Jayhawks picked up the slack enough to eventually force OT andoutscored St. Clair 9-5 in the extra session.

Camaryia Williams led MCC with 25 points, nine rebounds, and four assists while Morgan Giddings scored 14 points and had six assists.

Bailey Freeland scored 17 points and Kelsy Hackbardt chipped in 12 points. Jana’a Matthews had a massive night on the boards with 19rebounds and Francesca Cerniglia added 12.

MCC led 32-16 by halftime against Alpena and never looked back.

The Jayhawks were led by Tootie Thompson with 11 points and seven rebounds while Cerniglia added 10 points.

Kaylie Caverley put up eight points and eight rebounds while Matthews led again on the boards with 13 rebounds for MCC.
