The Holton girls basketball squad hung on to beat Whitehall 35-34 in a non-league game on Tuesday.

The Red Devils (3-4) took a three-point lead on a three-point basket from Savannah Cressman with nine second left in the game. Whitehall got a bucket as time expired, but it was too little, too late.

Cressman had a game-high 12 points for Red Devils, while Makayla Hutchison added 10 points.

The Vikings were led by Jacki Brown with 11 points.

FRUITPORT CALVARY CHRISTIAN 73, MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 48 – The Eagles used a strong second half to break open a four-point halftime lead. Allyson Richards scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Eagles while Hannah Roberts added 21 points. Kylie Mount had 14 points for the Spartans in a losing effort.

HART 70, WHITE CLOUD 32 – The Pirates jumped 40-15 lead at halftime. Baylee Draper had a game-high 24 points, 10 rebounds and four steals for the Pirates. Yasmine Colon added 14 points and eight rebounds.

NEWAYGO 58, HESPERIA 10 – Newaygo’s 43 points in the first half were enough to push aside any threat from Hesperia. Newaygo’s Riley Knight had a game high 22 points.

WYOMING GODWIN HEIGHTS 46, WEST MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 28 – The Warriors (5-3) struggled to take care of the ball in a loss Tuesday night, committing 40 turnovers. Aubrey Goorman scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead WMC.
