Boys basketball: Calvary picks up win; R-P, WMC and Kent City lose

The Fruitport Calvary Christian boys basketball squad picked up a 63-57 victory over Barry County on Thursday night.

ZEELAND EAST 59, REETHS-PUFFER 43 – Reeths-Puffer led 14-13 after the first quarter, but Zeeland East stepped it up in the second to build a 29-20 halftime lead and cruise to victory. Armund Gordon led the way for the Rockets with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Carter Fulton chipped in 14 points and DeAirrus Ware scored seven.

TRI-UNITY CHRISTIAN 52, WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 38 – Tri-Unity’s Willie Otole hit three 3-pointers and had three assists in the first quarter to help give his team an early 23-10 lead. The Warriors (4-11,) struggled to cut into their deficit for the remainder of the game. Otole finished with 19 points and Collin Rosendall contributed 10 points for Tri-Unity (12-4). The Warriors were led by Nate Dugener with eight points.

LAKEVIEW 49, KENT CITY 33 – Kent City struggled offensively throughout the contest. Fraser Wilson led the Eagles in a losing effort with 11 points.
