Girls hoops roundup: Kent City drains 16 3-pointers in big win over Allendale

Kent City was red-hot from 3-point land on Tuesday, as they connected on 16 3-pointers in a 76-35 blowout victory over Allendale.

Paige Mortensen and McKenna Carlson combined to hit 13 triples, as Mortensen hit seven and finished with 23, while Carlson drained six and totaled 20 points.Midnight sun web adlsj-fb-logo

Meghan Boyd and Kaitlyn Geers chipped in with 10 points apiece for Kent City.

Brooke Modderman led Allendale with 20 points.

FRUITPORT CALVARY CHRISTIAN 66, HESPERIA 1 – Fruitport Calvary Christian was led by Hannah Roberts with 21 points, while Montana Burgtorf pulled down seven rebounds for the Eagles and Erica Mitchell added five steals. Cheyenne Witte scored the lone point for the Panthers, while Mandy Purdy pulled down six rebounds.
HOLTON 52, ORCHARD VIEW 33 – After earning a narrow 13-9 lead in the first quarter, Holton blew the game open with a 15-2 run in the second quarter. Courtney Slater’s 13 points and 12 rebounds paced the Red Devils. Alicia Dykman added another 10 points in the victory. The Cardinals were led by Janaya Ferrell with 11 points.
