It was old school basketball night in Grand Haven on Friday.

The Buccaneer boys and girls hoop teams moved their home games to “The Pit,” which is the nickname of the LSJ Logo incertstoried old gymnasium at Lakeshore Middle School, which is the former Grand Haven High School.

Grand Haven played its home games in the cozy “Pit” from 1953 to 1997.

A huge crowd packed the old gym Friday to see the Grand Haven boys win and the girls team lose.

The Buccaneer boys rallied to defeat Hudsonville 57-53 in O-K Red Conference action.

Grand Haven used an 18-11 fourth-quarter advantage to steal the victory. The Bucs improved to 10-4 overall and 4-2 in conference play.

Zac Holman paced Grand Haven with 14 points.

In girls action, Hudsonville downed Grand Haven 32-26. The Bucs dropped to 7-8 overall and 3-3 in the league.

Alexia Bouwhuis led Grand Haven with 11 points.
