The Muskegon Big Reds cruised to their sixth straight victory on Saturday with a 63-47 non-conference victory over Lansing Sexton at Redmond-Potter Gymnasium.
After an even first quarter, Muskegon outscored Sexton 20-13 in the second quarter to take a 25-18 halftime lead.
The Big Reds coasted to a 38-29 advantage in the second half to secure the win.
Muskegon dominated in rebounding, 51-26.
Despite the win, coach Keith Guy was not pleased with his team’s effort.
“We were lackadaisical,” he said. “We rebounded well, but that’s about it.”
Terrion Hill-McKay had a double-double for Muskegon, totaling 12 points and 13 rebounds. Linwood Lee had a team high 14 points.
Sexton was led by Jabri Rahim, who scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
The Big Reds improved to 13-3 overall. They are also 7-0 in the O-K Black Conference with three league games remaining.
“It will be an interesting week, to say the least,” Guy said, regarding upcoming practices. “Big Red nation deserves better.”
