The West Michigan Lake Hawks overcame a sluggish third quarter Saturday night to hold on for a 129-116 victory over the Flint Chargers.LSJ Logo incert

After taking a 65-49 halftime lead, the Lake Hawks were outscored 35-21 in the third quarter and had their lead cut to only 86-84 headed into to the fourth.

But the Lake Hawks found their groove down the stretch, outscoring Flint 43-32 and capturing a win at Reeths-Puffer High School.

Ralph Monday and Tevin Bradley led the Lake Hawks with 22 points apiece while Monday pulled down 17 rebounds.

Louis Williams added 21 points and 10 rebounds for West Michigan while Terry Walker Jr. added 20 points.

Deon Rice paced the Chargers with 35 points.

The Lake Hawks are now 12-4 on the season and will hit the road to play the Oakland County Cowboys on Sunday.
