Lightning 5, Red Wings 2 – The Tampa Bay Lightning scored three unanswered goals to break a 2-2 tie and defeat the Red Wings in Game 2 of the first round of the playoffs on Friday night.

LSJ Logo incertThe Lightning lead the best of seven series 2-0, Detroit will host Game 3 of the series on Sunday night.

Tampa Bay was led by Tyler Johnson with two goals and two assists while Alex Killorn and Nikita Kucherov chipped in with a goal and an assist.

Dylan Larkin and Brad Richards each scored a goal for the Red Wings.

Astros 1, Tigers 0- The Houston Astros handed the Tigers their first shutout of the season on Friday night.

The Astros’ starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel threw eight scoreless innings, allowing five hits while striking out four batters.

Houston scored its lone run on an RBI single from Colby Rasmus in the first inning.

Detroit’s Mike Pelfrey pitched the loss, allowing one run on five hits in six innings.

The Tigers will look to even the series with a win against the Astros on Saturday night.
