The Fremont baseball team dropped a non-conference game to Zeeland West on Wednesday, 11-1.
The game was one of three high school games played at Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park, the host of Class A minor league baseball squad West Michigan Whitecaps.
The Packers allowed seven runs in the fifth inning to fall behind big in an otherwise close game.
James Pekel, Calvin Miller and Tyler Zimmerman had one hit each for Fremont, while Tim MacKay drove in the lone Packer run.
Brendan Vriezema dominated on the mound for Zeeland West, throwing all five innings and striking out five. Shane DeJonge led the offensive charge, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Nic Keyzer and Aaron Sleeman drove in two runs each.
