The Mona Shores Sailors pulled out a thrilling 4-3 victory over Muskegon Catholic at Marsh Field on Saturday. lsj-fb-logo

MCC held a 3-1 lead in the sixth inning before Mona Shores’ Tyler Trovinger launched a two-out, two-run homer to tie the game.

The Sailors then won in the eighth on a game-winning single from Hunter Broersma.

Trovinger had three hits on the day and got the win on the mound by pitching a complete game.

For the Crusaders, Devin Comes pitched seven strong innings. Cole Charlesworth and Hai Nguyen each had a double.

Mona Shores then beat Traverse City St. Francis 13-3. Brendan Freeman got the win on the mound while Broersma had three hits, four RBIs and scored four runs. Elijah Wilson had two hits, three RBIs and scored three runs while Trovering had two hits, three RBIs and scored one run.

MCC then played Traverse City St. Francis in another exciting game. This time, the Crusaders were on the right side of the comeback, scoring four runs in the seventh inning to secure a 12-11 win.

Berto Vasquez got the win in relief and drove in four runs on two hits. Nguyen had three hits and two RBIs and Bobby Ahem had two hits and three RBIs.
